Ideas with a future.

THE PROPERTIES

Ceramic surfaces usually represent considerable value. So using a top quality, reliable tiling range is extremely important. Professional tile adhesives guarantee stability, flexibility and cohesion in equal measure.
For laying ceramic surfaces, the substrate must be solid and even. Baumit SuperGrund for non-absorbent and smooth substrates and Baumit Hydrosol for absorbent mineral and organic substrates are primers that improve bonding. Special self levelling compounds - Baumit Nivello and levelling mortar Baumit Planea eliminate surface irregularities on walls and floors and ensure the optimal substrate for later tiling.

MORE BAUMIT PRODUCTS

More Baumit products are available as sealants to protect against moisture and water beneath ceramic surfaces. For example, Baumit Sanova Protect Flex, suitable for external use as well.
With the adhesive mortars from Baumit Baumacol, you can choose the best adhesive for all your ceramic surfaces, substrates and requirements: Baumacol Basic for laying tiles in a domestic setting or Baumacol FlexTop for tiling ceramic surfaces on terraces, for tiling on heated screeds or on difficult surfaces.

ACHIEVING A CONSISTENT LEVEL

An even substrate is necessary for tiling ceramic surfaces, as tiles could otherwise crack and bonding will be impaired.

In the past, a relatively thick mortar bed would be used for laying tiles.  Nowadays, the substrate is levelled beforehand by using thin-bed mortars and fillers.

 PREPARING AND PRIMING

PREPARING AND PRIMING

Baumit Nivello, which has been developed especially for floors, can even out level differences of up to 25 millimetres.  The self levelling compound fills the deep areas of the substrate almost on its own - just through natural flow.
With Baumacol Planea, which is particularly suitable for wall surfaces, you can fill cracks and irregularities in walls easily and effectively. On walls it is particularly important that the bonding mortar is applied quickly and can harden without tension.

TILING WITH BAUMACOL

Ceramic tiling should be laid out dry. Use the most appropriate Baumacol adhesive mortar for the tile type. Whether fine ceramic tiles with or without glaze, porcelain clinker bricks, mosaic tiles or porcelain stoneware, you will find the right adhesive for every material with Baumit.

 KITCHEN

KITCHEN

The kitchen and hallway are the classic areas for tiles. As long as there are no particular requirements in these areas. Then using standard procedures is sensible.

The substrate should be adequately prepared according to its absorbency with Baumit Hydrosol or Baumit Protect Primer. Baumacol Basic offers the optimum mortar bed for the selected tiles.

BATHROOM

For comfort, a heated floor is installed in many bathrooms.  So the requirements made on tile adhesive change as a result. The perfect solution for this type of area is Baumacol Flex Top.

Its special features mean your selected tiles or ceramic surfaces have a secure bond. Just as with standard procedures, the substrate should be prepared with Baumit Hydrosol or Baumit Protect Primer, depending on its type.
